Brake Pads

Fellow SAAB'ophiles:
I have a question concerning FRONT brake pads for my '96 900S. Beck-Arnley
lists a semi-metallic pad for $43, less than half of what my SAAB dealer
is asking. Does anyone out there is SAABland have any experience with
these pads? The original brake system on my car is exceptionally good, and
I don't want to screw it up to save a few bucks on parts, but I don't want
to encourage SAAB's overpricing parts either. Also, what is involved in
changing pads on this car?
Thanks,
Stan
1958 93B purchased new now in SAAB heaven
1965 95 - purchased new and flood damaged - now somewhere in Wyoming
1974 99LEH - traded in part for '96 900S - I miss you, please phone home.
1996 900S non-turbo - 40,000 miles, still runs well!
