Mahalo to Jim and Stephen for the responses. Took the car to another shop
and had them go over the alignment again. Same results as first time on the
toe in. They didn't twell me what the camber was but the fronts differ by a
full degree, right to left. From Jim's specifications, that is within the
tolerances if the camber is below -1.6 degrees, however.

Seem to be pretty common knowledge that block or transverse groove tread
designs cup worse than circumferential treads. Will look for a different
tread style and see if that solves the problem.

Tires were rotated every 6,000 miles but the set that are now on the front
have worn much faster than the set that started out on the rear. May be
because these tires have already done two stints on the front.
Still, tire wear and tread separation are not the normal scene at 20,000
miles. The original Michilen Pilots didn't get to 30,000 miles as they wore
out on the inside of the treads, also.

Should a car whose aligment is in spec., shocks are still okay, tires are
rotated regularly and driven very tamely eat up tires in less than 25,000
miles?? There seems to be something else going on here, any one else have any
ideas.

Aloha
Peter O.
