Fuel Distributer

I have been running an 058 CIS fuel distributer and matching flow plate
for many years on my hopped up turbo b-motor.

Back in November I wrecked the '78 99 that hosted this motor and
subsequently I stripped the car of its components and installed them into
a 1980 99GL including wiring harness(s). I did not replace the fuel pump
with the old one.

Once I got it all together and running, It began to develop fuel problems.
The engine would back fire under hard acceleration/boost (pop, not ping).
And then in other times it would intermittent just run like it wasn't
getting any fuel at all. I would then have to limp back to the garage.

I tested the fuel pressure and it was too high. I examined the piston on
the bottom of the 058 and found that it was hanging up. I scotch brighted
it, this seemed to cure th high fuel pressure and I was on my way.

Not soon after, it started misbehaving once again. Through this whole
adventure I went through three fuel pumps (out of various 900's), and have
changed the fuel distributer 5 times. I did not replace the fuel make-up
valve (the buzzy thing).

I even left it with the experts. They found that when I mounted the fuel
tank that I pinched the return line, hence the high fuel pressures. They
checked through the whole system including start-up and fuel pressures.
Everything there seemed to be O.K. They even replaced the warm up
regulator with a brand new unit.

But the damn thing still runs like shit. And nobody can seem to figure it
out. It is definitely a fuel system problem. While I should be running
the stock 99 turbo fuel distributer and not the 058, I didn't have these
problems before messing around with this new 99 shell and perhaps a real
dirty fuel tank.

I am in the process of fixing this whole mess. If anyone has suggestions
and perhaps '78 99 parts for sale, then please let me know.

1978 Parts
fuel distributer and matching flow-plate mechanism
Lucas fuel cut-off switch (high boost protection)
front side signal light covers (left and right)

Thank you
