Huh...a Swedish car manufacturer has some problems with their cars in cold
climates!?  This seems to be the height of absurdity.

Do you know if this crank sensor could contribute to the engine stalling or
stumbling as well?  On occasion my car has had the same problem that you
describe. That seems to have more or less disappeared although I had a
delightful time in freezing rain near Xmas when the car refused to start
for about 1/2 an hour and then suddenly decided to start.

Now the car will either stall - the engine just stops without stumbling -
or the engine dies and restarts while still rollling (at which point every
warning light on the dash panel lights up).  If it stumbles without
actually dying, the car gets stuck in whatever gear (an automatic) that it
was in when the stumble occurred - usually third or fourth.  I also cannot
select sport mode when this happens.  I have to pull off the road, turn off
the car and restart it.  This is extremely annoying and dangerous.  These
stalls/stumbles seem to occur when the car is cold and in damp weather.  It
will usually occur in the first 10 minutes or so of driving if it is going
to.

The car is going into the dealer yet again this week.  Any suggestions
about this would be most appreciated.
