Hella 550 Free-Form are the same size as OEM, and mounts easily to the
factory brackets. They have great light output and dispersion; low and
wide as fog lights should. Though as you know, they are very suseptible
to damage with their low mounting location. I smashed one light going
down a San Francisco driveway, and a flying rock cracked the other's
lens :( Should have used the included covers. As of now, I've decided
I don't really need fog lights. $100 kit at Pep-Boys in clear or amber,
the non Free-Form 550s are cheaper Hella selection are limited at
Pep-Bos.

Falling hatch will be fixed with new lift struts. SteadyLift makes a ~
$30 (each) replacement with lifetime warranty. I'm getting warranty
replacements after 3 years. They are cheap, but the balance is off;
opening the hatch is easy but closing is hard. Humm, I wonder if adding
a few pounds to the hatch will help the balance.
