My '96 900 SE convertible has just gone out of warranty. The three
negatives about the car, outweighed by many positives are:

1 The left front seat can push out the windshield by pushing the
seatback forward and running the power seat forward.

2. The straight line steering is poor.

3. There are two straps that connect the top to the rail on both
sides that are sewn to the canvas, attached to the rail by a
pathetic rivet. The straps pull out of the rivet. Dealer fixes are
bad. Easily fixed with a dollar or two of hardware items.

My in-laws are Chevy dealers. Drove a new Impala last week. Sticker
about $21K. Same size as 9/5. Independent suspension, four wheel
disc brakes. Dumb rear end treatment. Decent handling. Quiet.

Probably not a bad deal for:

1. Local dealer for warranty.

2. Upcoming police package to make it into an Aero.

3. $15K to invest.
