I know that all the engine to xmisson bolts need to have sealer on their
threads when they are installed.  I had our car back to the dealer three
times to make our car 'drip-free' after they rebuilt the xmission at 60K.
Our is a '87 900S.  The cure was for the mechanic to remove each bolt and
apply some sort of sealant to the threads.
 
Regarding your anti freeze, I would look very carefully all around the
head, and all the hose connections.  I've had several weeps in areas that
you wouldn't think.  Make sure you clean off any scale/corrosion off of
fittings before clamping your hoses down.  There's also a weird casting
bolted onto the right side of the engine, behind the exhaust manifold.  I
think it serves as a block drain, and maybe the port for a block heater?
You can barely see this beast.  Getting a wrench on it is the most fun!  I
had to remove the exh. manifold from our car to get at it...good luck!
Just needed to replace the gasket on mine.

Check your oil pressure for the tapping noise.  Are you sure it's not just
the injectors that you're hearing?  They make a clicking noise...
