The 'Saab-Lancia 600' was a somewhat unique version of the Lancia 'Delta'
(a car a lot like a Fiat 128) which was sold exclusively through Saab
dealers in Scandanavia in the 1980's. The purpose was to provide Saab
dealers with an entry level car, which they lacked once the 96 production
ceased, and an outlet in Scandanavia for Lancia, whose sales there at the
time were abysmal. This agreement was a consequence of Saab and Lancia
being in close contact as partners in the 9000 project.

Look forward to an in depth study of platforms and tahe similarities and
differences of cars made from the same platform in NINES (shameless plug).

Both cars were made from 'Vectra' platforms, but the 9-3 is based on a
previous platform, while the 9-5 is based on the current platform. Note
that the two platforms are completely different - the newer one was not a
development or refinement of the older. The only reason they are both
called 'Vectra' platforms is that the largest selling car build on both of
them was called the 'Vectra'.

The Omega is a rear drive car very much like the Caddilac Catera, and its
'platform' is completely different from either 'Vectra'.
