Starter Failure

Last week I posed a question about a failing starter on my '87 Saab 900S
with 215K miles. Starter turned the engine over slowly at first and a few
days later would not turn engine at all. Battery checked out ok. Ordered
rebuilt starter and spent Labor Day putting it in. I wasn't positive that
it was the starter and not the ignition switch ( I can't remove key from
switch). That's another problem. Thought I could hear solenoid valve
clicking. I am pleased to report it was the starter !!! Engine fired up
immediately.

Best Regards
David Torrey
