Try a Stahlwille AS drive socket, the cut-outs inside the socket are
rounded not square, also Snap-on make one I think and also Metrinch. I
am sure there are a number of other. I have a Koken set that has this
same feature. some info on the Metrinch web site
http://www.mitools.com/

what it does is apply torque to the a mm or two from the points on the
hex bolt or nut, making it near impossible to strip unless you really
give it hell or the bolt is already damaged. with a conventional 12 or 6
point the spanner can actually apply force to the very points, shearing
them off. now do that a number of times and the points wear down enough
to either spread the spanner or simply round off the head.

Anyway not infalible but you will see that all your nuts and bolts stay
sharp on the points and essentially never wear out! Oh and there are
6-point and 12-point versions. It sounds like you should try the 6 point
for better chances on not stripping it.
