TCS Ctrl Warning

While driving on local roads, my '93 9000CSE turbo (auto) flashed the 'TCS
ctrl' warning light twice in past two weeks. Each time I had to pull over as
soon as I can since throttle control was inhibited immediately and I was
barely able to maintain 30mph. After pulling over and shutting down then
re-starting the car, everything worked fine and the light stayed off. When I
checked in the owner's manual I was *shocked* to find the manual describing
exactly everything that happened (and that I did the right thing), and stated
if the warning light stays off afterwards then the car is fine, otherwise if
the light stays on then have the Saab dealer inspect immediately.
Nevertheless the experience irked me as I've only owned the car for just over
two weeks, and another incident like this on a fast-flowing freeway would
seem quite dangerous.

Is this a common occurrence with 9000's equipped with TCS ? Somehow I can't
see this as a design flaw that Saab readily discloses in its owners manual.
What is the best way(s) to prevent this from happening again ? I've heard '95
and later models allowed users to disable TCS but earlier models don't have
the on/off switch. If this TCS problem persists should I have my TCS disabled
by a Saab mechanic ?

TIA,
Kenneth Kuo
