Leaks

I submitted a post regarding wheel bearing replacement a few weeks ago.
Well the car is rolling smoothly now. While I was in there, I replaced
all 4 ball joints and the exhause side's differential side cover seal,
o-ring amd inner boot.

The car handles very well. I took it up to Angeles Crest Highway last week
and was impressed at how stable it was through the twisties.

BUT...what's with all the leaks? I took care of the valve cover seal and
the PS reservoir. Now instead of puddles under the car, I have around 5
drops per night. The next leak fix is the PS rack at the steering input
shaft. I've flushed the system and added a bottle of 'no leak' but no
success. I called Pep Boys and they can order me a rebuilt unit with a
lifetime warranty for $199. I wonder who the rebuilder is for Pep Boys. Has
anyone used their racks?

The front main (rear main?..the one at the pulley) is also leaking. I
can't tell but the shifter selector rod also seems to be leaking at the
tranny but I really don't know. It eventually ends up looking like the
rear diff cover is bad also and finally ends up dripping near the trans
drain plug. Could be multiple leaks but also could be just the main.

Can a main seal cause all this havoc? Common sense would tell me that oil
would splash backwards as the car is moving. Has anyone experienced this?
I've read in the archives about a dye that the dealers use to diagnose
leaks. Where can I obtain this stuff, or can I just use food coloring?

I'm tired of chasing leaks. I've spend over 20 bucks so far (more I'm sure
as time goes on) at the DIY coin car wash trying to get all this crud off.
I know. I've read that it's normal for Saabs to leak a little oil, but one
thing I hate is a leaking car.

I plan to tackle the main and the rack together since it seems easier to
remove the crank pulley with the rack out. And of course, I'll change the
oil pump o-ring while I'm in there too. A big snowball!

If it was the shifter seal; how do I replace it. I see a bushing with a
flare at the visible end, but that's about it. Do I need any disassembly
of the trans?

On another note, does anyone know where the EZK unit is located on a 89
900? I sometimes (but rarely) get the Check Engine light coming on in
series of 4 flashes - which seems to be either the knock sensor or the EZK
unit from reading the archives.

Also, I'd like to clean out the crank sensor area but can't seem to find
it. Nothing at the flywheel and nothing at the pulley. Can someone lead
me to it?

Thanks for reading my long post.
