Winter Driving

I am in the process of replacing my '88 9000T, and I was looking at 9-
5 Aero's, until I saw a used 9-3 Viggen. I liked the Viggen a lot,
but had second thoughts when I considered what Upstate NY winters
might mean for a low-slung Viggen with 17-inch alloys.

Specifically, here in NY we have really awful roads - lots of
potholes which probably won't get much attention this year (the
state's broke, etc.), and a lot of parking lot entrances that I
sometimes nick with my relatively high-sitting 9000T front spolier,
regardless of how slowly I take them.

I could see running the Viggen on 16-inch winter wheels with snow
tires - is this a crazy idea? I really don't have the room to keep my
old 9000T as a winter vehicle, so that's not an option. I would have
obught an Aero by now, but the trunk access is not so good compared
to the hatch of the Viggen.

Ideas or comments?

TIA --- Phil Matt
