BTDT.
Both sides rusted out on my '86 900S about 4 yrs ago.
After consultation with 3 people, the only solution was welding a
patch/rebuilding the mount.
The average garage with an average welder won't be able to do it, you need a
MIG welder and a goodly supply of stock to build up the rusted out area(s).
When the right rusted out, I paid US$80 to a local shop. I ended up getting
it done again about a year later. The left side followed about a year after
that.
It's not really a DIY job, because you need a heavier duty welding rig and
access to some metal stock to rebuild the mount. I went to 5 places, and only
2 would take on the job, and the 1st did a half-assed job.

BTW, when I bought the '86, I inquired about getting one of the major
undercoating/rustproofing treatments done.; I was advised that it really
wasn't worth it on a Saab, because of their innate rust-resistance. I guess
most people don't hold onto their cars for 17 yrs.
