Any change you make to the airflow of a Saab will create a lot of
noise. I've got Thule racks, and they can get noisy. I tend to keep
the racks as far aft as I can. Putting on one of the fairings will
not appreciably change the noise level (though it **may** help the
drag), plus you have to put that rack Sooo far forward on the Saab.

And I'm talking about JUST the load bars. Putting any sort of load on
there makes it worse.

I look at it this way - the rack is used to serve a particular
purpose, i.e. carrying stuff I can't or don't want to fit inside the
car. The alternative is what? A trailer? A pick up??
