The instruction booklet for my Bel 850STi recommends a 'high mount.' It
specifically say not to mount the detector behind the windshield wipers or
any other objects that might block line-of-site for laser detection.
Although my experimenting wasn't too scientific, I have noticed a difference
in detection between a low mount at the bottom of the windshield and a mount
just below the rear view mirror. Anyone else noticed this?

Like Bill, I hate having the detector by so visible. Has anyone come up
with a creative mounting that doesn't diminish the detectors performance?
Anyone hardwired the power for their detector (just curious) (I know there
are detectors that can be permanently installed, K40 Bel, etc.).
