Cold Weather Tachometer

I have a '92 SAAB 9000 with 106K miles (stick shift) that i just
recently bought... and ive posted to this list a couple times (and
REALLY apreciate the help)... i've taken care of most of the small
problems that affect drving (i paid $3000, spent ~$200 for good tires
and ~$200 for a transmission thing) so now im trying to work out all the
little quirks.

The most noticeable is that my tachometer doesn't seem to work in cold
weather. Now that its getting warmer around here, it won't be much of a
problem, but whenever the engine is cold, the tachometer just shuts
off...that is to say, the needle doesn't move. SOMETIMES, as the car
warms up (after like 15 min. of driving) it will start working again...
sometimes it works perfectly after this warm up period, and sometimes
the needle is kinda sluggish... it moves, but not accurately.

Any advice on this?

thx,

-Yoni Kurland
