straight forward. As you remove the cam cover you will see a bracket right
next to the cam sprocket. What you do is loosen the sprocket from the
camshaft and clamp it to this bracket. This bracket will hold the chain and
sprocket while you remove the cylinder head. My biggest challenge was
finding a female Torx type socket for the head bolts. Wound up chasing down
a MAC TOOLS truck and buying one from him. (This was right when Torx tools
were coming out and quite hard to find. You should have much better luck
now.).

You should be aware that the 8v heads were very suseptable to warping if the
engine overheats. This is what happened in my case. I was foolish enough
not to check that it was straight. I put in a new gasket only to find that
it still blew water out the tail pipe. Do yourself a favor and have it
checked and magnafluxed. If it ain't warped, it may be cracked. Also check
the cylinder walls. My second 99LE had a cracked cylinder when I thought it
was the head.

Anyway, have fun and keep 'em running!

Regards,
Jim Miller
