Not unknown, the rigid 'plastic' tubing doesn't dent and kink and rust like
the steel version, is more resilient in the case of a crash,

I *know* the brake lines on the 99/C900 pass through the interior, and I
think the fuel lines do as well. But someone who knows *where* they are (I
recall the brake lines being along the side of the cabin, tucked down by
the left side door sills) can get to them easily enough. BUT why are you
running around pulling out perfectly good fuel lines? The source of the
gasoline smell can be:

The sender seal, the filler neck/vent, the fuel pump seal, there's a check
valve or something in the vent hose that runs over the doors, behind the
'C' pillar trim.

You need to find someone familiar enough with the car to diagnose the
source of the problem before he starts ripping out parts.
