Re: Engine Swap

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my message.

I went ahead and got the engine swap. I got an 83K '95 AERO engine for
$2000, incl. labor, which I guess was a pretty good deal reading some
posts and other messages sent direct to me (parts $1650, hence labor
was $350!!!). This was at Rum's Garage in N. Orange, MA. Highly
recommended. I got a 60-day warranty.

Then engine seems to be running fine, although the 'Check Engine'
indicator came on the second day of the swap. I should go check it
soon, I guess, although it might be something unsubstantial. I didn't
even ask about the old engine because the day before I was supposed to
take the car to the garage, my car broke down in the middle of the
freeway....apparently, the piston was toasted (remember, the original
diagnosis I got from Charles River SAAB was that it had a bad Turbo and
Head Gasket...good thing I didn't get those part from them for $2800!!).
