There is less than a week to go until the first annual
Mississippi River Saab Tour, sponsored by the Saab
Club of North America, Andrews Inc, and Meyer Garage.
The event is being held on Saturday April 27th, 2002.

The tour will consist of a casual drive on the scenic
backcountry roads along the Upper Mississippi River,
and offers beautiful scenery, prime Bald Eagle
habitat, and fun twisty roads!

Please arrive at the Dresbach Information/Rest Area
off of I-90 at 10:30am. This rest area is on the west
bank of the Mississippi River across from La Crosse,
WI.

The tour will follow 'The Great River Road' through
Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, and will incorporate a
barbeque lunch break at Pikes Peak State Park. At
lunch we will take a group photo (to be submitted to
NINES), and award prizes sponsored by Andrews, Inc.,
and Meyer Garage. The main categories will be:
Furthest traveled Saab, highest mileage Saab, oldest
Saab, the coveted Drool Bucket award, and probably
some well just make up as we go.

After lunch we will continue along the bluffs on the
Iowa side of the Mississippi enjoying some of the best
roads in the Midwest. The Tour will terminate at the
Mississippi River Museum and Diamond Jo Riverboat
Casino in downtown Dubuque, Iowa at approximately 4pm.
Those that would like to can stay for an after tour
meal at the casino.

Please send an e-mail to MRTourno39sdcx6spamx782mail.saabnet.com to
let us know whether you plan to attend or not. This
will allow us to get an accurate head (or is that
hood?) count prior to the event.

Things to bring:

- Your Saab. (Duh!)
- Food and beverages for lunch. We will provide the
charcoal and fire.
- Camera
- Appropriate clothing for any weather. It is April
after all.
- Checkbook. Phil Lacefield of the National Saab Club
will be there accepting checks from those that wish to
join.
- CB Radio if you have one (Channel 29)
