Your 1993 9000CSE will only have the Trionic (fuel, ignition, boost) control
system if it has the B234L turbo engine. In this case, there is no air mass
meter in the car. Air mass measurement is done by the Trionic computer with
a continuous calculation using inputs from the IAT (intake air temperature)
and MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensors.

The reason why this distinction is important is that 1993 9000CSE non-turbo
models had a separate Bosch LH2.4.2 fuel-injection and SAAB Direct Ignition
systems. LH2.4.2 uses a hot-wire air-mass-meter.

Either way, the behavior you describe is not normal. If the only error code
retrievable with the Tech-II scan-tool indicates a faulty O2 sensor, then it
is possible that this is really the problem, even if the sensor has been
replaced recently. New sensor doesn't always equal Good sensor.

If your car is a turbo, and if it has TCS (traction control), it is a VERY
remote possibility that the ETS (electronic throttle system) is not
functioning correctly, or is not properly calibrated, and may be responsible
for fooling the Trionic computer into thinking that the O2 sensor is bad.
How this could be directly linked to fuel-grade is beyond me, but not
impossible !

As far as I'm concerned, the early ETS system (found on '92-'95 9000 turbo
cars with the TCS option) is the ROOT OF ALL EVIL !

Sorry I can't offer more helpful advice.
