I just put a set of NT450's sized at 205/50 V 16's on my '97 900 Talladega
about 10,000 miles ago (about two months ago). Used to have Michelin
Pilots. The Nitto's a much more quiet and still have the grip and
performance of the Pilots. Although the Pilots are Z rated and the Nitto's
are V rated, the difference in speed values is meaningless here in the
States as far as I'm concerned. Z-rated tires are acceptable to 150+ MPH,
while the V-rated tires are for 130 MPH. Unless you plan on driving
through Montana at 150, get the Nitto's. You will not be disappointed.

Nitto is a Japanese tire that really got it's start in rally and autocross
circles. After developing their track and race tires they've since gone
into the street market. The NT55% is their Z-rated tire, akin to the
Michelin Pilots or Pirelli P-Zero's. They also have an NT-555 racing
version if you're so inclined. Here's their web-site:
