Peter,

I suggest mouse traps to keep the population down. I have had great luck
with the Victor brand gray plastic ones that look like big clothes pins. They
are easy to set and don't get all rusty like the wooden ones. The wooden
ones work fine too, but are not as easy to deal with.

For bait I use Jif peanut butter. It seems to have more smell. A friend of
mine puts a raisen in the peanut butter. This may make them push harder
on the trip plate.

Hope this helps.

Drive Safe,

Joe
