I assume you are referring to the front main seal not he rear. You should
have the seal and the oil pump oring replaced. Your mechanic can clean off
the sensor and it should be fine. I would use a electrical spray cleaner.
The coding you are getting could be associated to some other problem. Untill
obll their codes can lead you down some inaccurate paths. These tend to fail
when they get hot. The car will die and start back up after they dool down.
I do not see these fail very often. Have replaced 3 in the past 4 years in
my shop.
