You got burned by Crutchfield too, huh? Crutchfield will swear up and down
that their harness will fit your 9000, but it won't. I went through the same
thing with them 3 months ago and even told them to change their information,
but as you can see they didn't. Their adapter I'm sure works fine on early
9000s, but starting with the CS(E) models in '93 everything changed.
Crutchfield has failed to account for that and obviously isn't interested in
fixing problem. There must be too few '93+ 9000 owners installing their own
stereos for them to care.

The large red wire is your main 12v power, the small red wire is your 12v
memory.

That is because as you guessed below, you haven't yet
turned on the stock amp. See below:

If there is no wire labeled for 'amplifier remote
start' coming out of your stereo then connect the
'antenna remote start' to both your antenna wire and
your amplifier wire. All this circuit does is supply
12v when the stereo is on which tells the antenna to
go up and the amplifier to turn on.

This depends on whether or not you've connected the
speakers outputs or the line level (pre-amp) outputs
to the Saab's stock wiring. As I mentioned in my
previous message, to get the best results and the
proper volume levels you need to connect the line
level outputs to the Saab's wiring harness.

If you have connected the speaker outputs to the Saabs
wiring harness it will work, but your volume control
will be very limited and it won't sound very good
because you will only be able to use the three or four
lowest settings. The gaps between each volume setting
will be too great which will make it difficult to
select a comfortable listening level.

By utilizing the stock Saab amplifier you will not
need to re-wire your car, and you will get the benefit
of the stock Saab subwoofer (if your CS has one).
However if you don't want to use the stock amplifier
you certainly can wire the speaker outputs of your
stereo directly to the speakers. This would entail
rewiring the car. Good luck.
