many times have i jump started my 86 9000 T (or brought it to a rolling
start) after extended periods of not using it.

the display always shows all of its possible indications at one time (which
appears like non-sense) for a few seconds as it resets itself. given another
second or two, the display will return to normal.

now, the only time a gauge acted erratically for me was when i tried to give
the battery a jump NOT from another car, but from a battery
charging/starting device. that time, the tach and temp indicators started
shooting up and down. however, no dammage was done.

from my experience, i think you dont have any real problems.
