I have a '91 9000T with the 2.3L.  Car has 240K miles,
is mechanically sound and still looks great.  Awhile
back, I had a traumatic overheating event caused by
sudden loss of oil from a crack in the oil filter
supply line.  This resulted in the turbo glowing
cherry red by the time I could pull off the road.  I
ended up having to replace the head and everything
else checked out...for awhile.  Now I'm blowing oil
badly and expect the seals in the turbo are history. 
Also, don't feel the power from the turbo as I did
prior to the overheating event.  My question is this -
seeing I just had the head replaced and compression
check was good (less than 2500 miles ago) what are the
experiences with turbo seals going and the resulting
blowing of oil?  I don't want to go after the turbo
and later find out that's not the problem!  

I have found that I can get my turbo rebuilt by East
Coast Turbo for $525 or get a used one at Goldwing for
$400.  Any feedback on either of these routes and/or
experiences dealing with them?
