Just my humble opinion, but I'm thinking this tire choice might be a little
radical for a Saab. I've had bad luck with B.F.G. T/A tires on several
foreign cars. They seem to be best suited to American performance cars;
Vettes, IROC's, Mustangs, etc. I'm also wondering if the taller size, I
believe it works out to .80' on diameter, is worsening the situation. I
drive a 1995 900S with 195/60/15 tires, and I usually get about 40,000 miles
out of a set. This is running 36 PSI, rotating front to rear every 6000
miles or so, and driving on the aggressive side. I've only had Michelins on
this car.

As far as shocks go, I replaced the originals with Koni Gas Adjust's all
around at 50,000 miles. The stock ones weren't really used up, but I wanted
more dampening to prevent suspension bottoming on poor road surfaces. I'm
very happy with the Koni's, but they're not cheap.

I'd recommend talking to tire distributor (not the one that sold you the
BFG's), and get their opinion on the suitability of these tires for you car.
Also try The Tire Rack at www.tirerack.com. I looked at the reviews for your
tires at their site and found they were given a marginal rating for
treadwear. This is what one owner wrote::
Tire: BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD
Vehicle: 1997 Volvo 850 Turbo Sedan
Driving Style: Average
Driving Condition: Mostly Highway
Reviewer's Overall Ratings: 6.75 out of 10
Review Submitted 2001-02-19
These tires only lasted 3 1/2 months with only 5000 miles on them. I have
not seen a tire wear so fast before.

On the subject of camber, I've got the computer printout from my last
alignment. It shows the limits for front camber are 0.00 to -1.60 degrees,
and the limits for rear camber are -1.40 to -2.00 degrees. My car was
measured at -0.95 and -0.96 degrees front and -1.67 and -1.92 degrees rear.
(left to right). It also states that these specs. apply to 94-98 900, incl.
converible, so I believe your car should have the same limits.

Hope this helps,

Jim Moore
