I own an 86 900S, 146K. It was inspected last week and the right CV Boot
was found to be torn. The mechanic said he would replace the boot if he
were me, passed the car and sent me on my way. He was not really interested
in doing the repairs because it was a local service station, so I probably
did not get the best advice.

When I turn a hard right or left, I have loud clicking. In the past when
other cars of mine have had torn boots, i have had to replace a joint as
well. This is my first Saab, and I am looking to others who have had this
repair done for advice. Should I buy a shaft, joint and a boot, other
parts etc? What could I expect to pay for this repair? Thanks
