I have also recently bought a Saab, mine is a 1997 900 Turbo, and it has
exactly the same problem as Stephen's 9000. The dealer told me it needed a
tune-up, but considering how well it runs, I am having a hard time
believing that changing spark plugs will reduce the amount of vibration at
idle. After all it is not engine roughness, it is vibration that feels like
some harmonic imbalance that exists only at some engine speeds (idle).

By the way I love the car. It handles well and the turbo engine has very
nice power!!!

-TIA for any insights into the vibration issue.
