Front End Clunk

I was out of town last week which gave me a chance to drop the 9-5 at the
dealer for a clunkoscopy. I also had one of the turn signal clusters
replaced (the seal failed), and one of the grab handles replaced (the spring
action failed).

Today I spoke with the shop (Garry Small in Portland, OR). After carefully
retightening all of the front suspension fasteners they were unable to
reproduce the clunk. Apparently several front end bolts were under-torqued
at the factory and thus the whole procedure was warranty work.

I am, as always, skeptical. I look forward to picking the car up tomorrow
and backing up without a clunk. Stay tuned.

PS - The front mud guards work very well considering how unobtrusive they
are. I am going to install the rear mud guards as my driveway is dirt and
the rear of the car gets covered with mud spray every day.
