Re: Replacing Upper Control Arm Bushing

You need to remove the entire bracket to replace the bushing. That
means the big nut, and the two that hold the shims in place. Don't
misplace the shims.

Then you must get the remains of the old bushing, namely the steel
sleeve, off of the shaft. That may take the smoke wrench...

Once done, then you can put a new bushing in the bracket, then slip
that on the shaft & rebolt the bracket to the body (with the shims in
place).

Note; MAKE SURE you do this with the car resting on it's wheels. This
way most of the spring tension is busy holding the car up, and you
can easily maneuver the bracket & bushing into place.
