Hope the collective wisdom has a solution for our SAABs problem

a rather salty barge trip from Honolulu to Kona. Drove it 50 miles from
the port and around town yesterday with out any problems except that it
takes more than a couple of revolutions before the engine fires on start
up. Runs fine once its started and warm or cold seems to make no difference
how quickly it starts.

'check engine light' is on. Only thing we've done since yesterday is wash
the car and left it out in last nights rain to be sure the salt was washed
off.

in excellent condition. All service has been performed on schedule. Car
is in exceptional shape with absolutely no nicks, scrapes, or other signs
its not fresh off the showroom so don't believe the lady that owned it
abused it at all.

engine is still there!!! All the fluids are good, no other warning lights
and no leaks (big change from my Land Rover).

top and pull it out about an inch and then it hangs up solid. Tried
pushing it back in and pulling, twisting, etc. with no effect. What's the
secret to this. Checked the trans oil when we looked at the car in HNL so
know that it will come out. Don't want to pull my usual bigger hammer
trick when there, hopefully, is a finesse way to get it out.

Aloha
Peter
