Matthew, in light of the fact that winter is around the corner, I'll reprint
a letter I saved on the subject of seat heaters!

Also, don't forget the Heated Seats FAQ on TSN's web page.

Now if I could just find a good used 16V distributor, I could start working
on my OWN heated seats!

-Re: Seat Heater Rheostat
==================
On cars with seat heater switches, the easiest way to diagnose them is from
the connector on the switch itself.

Use a voltmeter and check that pin 2 (yellow wire) is getting battery
voltage. If it is, jumping it to pin 10( yellow/white wire) should make the
seat get hot if the element is good, regardless of the seat sensor.
Checking across pins 9 (black wire) and 10 with an ohm meter gives the
resistance in the heating element. it should be around 2.5 ohms. Checking
across pin 6 (blue wire) and pin 9 gives the seat sensors resistance. This
is variable with temperature.
