EXH light

The car is a 1985 900T with 198,000 miles. Recently the EXH light on
the far right end of the instrument cluster lit up. This light has
never lit before, and I suspect it is a short because it flickers when
I hit a bump. The car has the Amazing Disappearing Wiring Insulation
Syndrome, so it could be a bad wire making it light, but I am curious.

There is a switch controlling this light shown in the Bentley wiring
diagram, but it is not identified. In Haynes, it is an EGR switch. I
suspect that this switch does not exist (never seen it, had car since
new, do all work myself, etc.) but does anyone know why there is a
light there? No Exhaust Gas Recirculation on this model. Where is the
switch if it exists? What does the light mean? Was it always there,
or did it grow there during the last full moon?
