DRL Behavior

Over the years, the list has talked about the DRL function on the
9000, the NG900 and perhaps the 9-3. I haven't seen any discussion
for disconnecting the DRLs on the 9-5. That's probably because the
manual tells you how to do it by simply disconnecting fuse 35.

Disconnecting the fuse does disable the DRL function but it does
leave one odd remnant -- the headlights come on when the switch is
in the Parking Lights position with the ignition on (i.e., with the
engine running).

If you want the Parking Lights switch position on the 9-5 to
respond like the Saabs that came before it, the Tech 2 must be used
to configure DICE to keep the headlights off when the switch is in
the Parking Lights position.

The key advantage of this fix is you can display parking lights
while you are standing or parked with the engine running. And,
in the Parking Lights position, you get the equivalent of the
'low intensity' DRL illumination found on the NG900 and 9-3.
That's closer to the way DRL illumination works in Europe and it
allows for that configuration when you want low illumination
lighting during daylight.
