Fog Lamp Replacement

I just discovered, when I arrived at work this morning, that one of the fog
lamp lenses on my '95 900 was shattered. To my dismay, I also learned that
you must replace the complete assembly- not cheap! I bit the bullet and
ordered a new assembly but have one minor problem- how to remove the old
unit? My Haynes NG900 manual doesn't show how. About 9 months ago I had to
replace the bulb in the same fog light. I found that it was a real pain
getting it out since there is little clearance above the lower valence
panel to open the bulb cover and pull the bulb/socket assembly out. Any
suggestions on how to get the old fog lamp (not the bulb only) out and the
new one in? Personal email replies cheerfully accepted!
