The NG 900 is one the list of cars that must use the external
(license plate) mount. Some, though have had success with the
internal mount.

However, since you are planning to use in it NJ, I strongly suggest
the external mount. The contractor who installed EZ-Pass on the GSP
did it in some way different than New York and Massachusetts. This
resulted in my EZ-Pass (which I've had since 1994) not working 50% or
more of the time on the GSP, while I had 99% success on the Tappan
Zee Bridge, GW Bridge, NY Thruway and the Mass Pike.

Installing the license plate mount gives me over 95% success at all
EZ-Pass locations.

Why wouldn't one want the license plate mount? It's pretty small,
unobtrusive, and barely noticeable. One of mine has also survived a
low-speed crunch between two of my Saabs with no ill effects. NY
claims they can provide you with security screws. I haven't tried
them yet, but I really don't think the EZ-Pass tag is a hot theft
item.

As for waving it, that is illegal at most EZ-Pass locations. It is
supposed to be affixed to the car. This is a safety rule, which
prevents some 'accidents' from occurring at the toll booths.
