I think that this problem is caused by the 'self adjusting clutch cable'.
This was, in my opinion, a terrible design by Saab. I have the same problem
on my '96 900SET 5 sp. My wife generally drives it. I cannot stand to except
on the highway as my knee starts to hurt. I have heard rumors of a hydraulic
clutch actuation conversion available for this car. I am sure it would be
pricey. The situation may be helped by a new clutch cable. I have not tried
this yet. If you bought it from a dealer and it has some sort of warranty,
take it to them and see what they may do to help you out.

Let us know what you do about it.
