SPG Tires & Vacuum/Boost Leak

Two unrelated questions regarding an '88 900 Turbo convertible:

1. Is there any compelling reason _not_ to install SPG-sized tires (195HR60-15)
rather than the stock 185HR65-15? It appears that they both use 5.5 in. rims.

2. The car appears to have developed a leak somewhere downstream of the turbo.
When not on boost, there is a strong 'vacuum leak' sound, and when the turbo
kicks in, no boost is indicated, and I can hear a different 'leaking' (blowing?)
sound. The problem is that I have looked around and don't see any obvious
leaks/cracks/broken lines. Any suggestions on typical failures to check for?
This is the 16V intercooled setup.

Thanks for any and all input,
