There are no published SAAB pricing guidelines. SAAB Service Departments
meet SAAB standards and SAAB Techs receive standard training from SAAB.
Dealers charge by the hour which ranges from no39sdcx6spamx782 $49 to $85 depending on
location and overhead costs.

I am not aware of a major service at 85,000 miles. SAAB usually has a major
service at 90,000 miles which cost about what you were quoted (At a
dealer). You can have it done cheaper at an Indy if you have a good one
available near you and his hourly rates are reasonable. Again, hourly rates
drive the cost. When I had my car serviced at SAAB Service of Orange, CT,
(Zee SAAB) their hourly rates were cheaper than Pep Boys who were located a
few blocks away. Needless to say SAAB was the better choice since their
techs were more familiar with my car and they used SAAB original parts.

Make the choice that is best for you and your budget but by all means get
the fluids changed and ensure they are the correct ones for your car and
driving conditions.
