Re: Clutch Pedal No Pressure

For the 900 Classic, there is NO substitute for pressure bleeding the clutch
and brake system. A 'vacuum' system that sucks fluid down from the slave
cylinders just doesn't work.

Build/buy/borrow a pressure adapter for the reservoir cap. An old radiator
reservoir cap (yep -- same threads!), a drill, a needle valve (for inflating
basketballs), a bicycle pump, and some silicone sealant will work. I think
you get the picture...

Take your pick of order, but I like to go from farthest to nearest (rear
wheels, front wheels, clutch slave). Hook up the hose to the bleed valve,
put the end in a can, and pump fluid down there until you see the new, clean
stuff. Refill the reservoir BEFORE it gets to the refill mark! You may need
a quart of fluid or more.

OTOH, don't discount the possibility one of the cylinders is bad, especially
if a rebuild. Since you are losing fluid, you should be able to find the
leak if there is one, and rebuild/replace the offending cylinder (unless it's
leaking into the brake vacuum booster).
